Ahmed Farid Alaulaqi (Co-Founder & President)
Mr. Farid worked for more than 20 years within the national commercial bank (NCB) group, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of NCB Capital, the investment and asset management arm of NCB. Mr Farid was President of Safanad from 2010 until 2016.
Previously, Mr. Farid was Head of Asset Management and also had direct responsibility for the Brokerage and Investment Banking divisions. Mr. Farid also served as Treasurer with overall responsibility for the bank’s liquidity, investments, interest rate and exchange risk on the bank’s balance sheet of over US$50 billion.
He started his career with NCB in London as a futures trader, high yield bond analyst and portfolio manager and worked at Bank of America and Chase Investors for two years in New York before being appointed as the Treasurer for NCB London. Mr. Farid is also the chairman of Saudi Tunisian Bank, and a board member of Saudi Hollandi Bank.
Mr. Farid obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom.
Mohamed Seif-Elnasr (Co-Founder & Managing Director)
Mr. Seif –Elnasr held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Safanad DIFC, a global principal investment firm focused on Private Equity, Real Estate, and Liquid Strategies between March 2011 & December 2014.
Previously he spent 17 years with The National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia where he was head of Asset Management. He was instrumental in building the proprietary trading and alternative asset management business of NBE. Previously was head of risk for the Middle East region at CSFB – London & Cairo where he was a member of the emerging markets team. He also worked for the investor services group at Citibank – London.
Mr. Seif –Elnasr started his career in 1979 at Arab African International Bank – Cairo in the treasury department. He moved to Bahrain in 1983 to join United Gulf Bank where he became the treasurer in 1985. In 1986 he joined Gulf International Bank – Bahrain as head of fixed income and derivatives trading.
Mr. Seif –Elnasr holds a BA in Economics with a minor in Psychology from the American University in Cairo.
SOMNATH MUKHERJEE (HEAD OF INVESTMENTS)
Mr. Mukherjee brings 14 years of experience in investment management where he handled various asset classes including Real Estate, Private Equity, Public Equities and Alternative Investments.
He was previously Director-Investments at Safanad since 2011 where he managed the principal investment portfolio. He also worked on various asset classes and sectors that included US Real Estate and Private Equity, US Public Equities, Global fixed income and a variety of direct hedge fund investments.
Prior to Safanad, he was with National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia since 2007 where he managed their US$ 1 billion principal private equity, real estate and specialist credit investment portfolio investing alongside industry partners in the US and Europe.
Mr. Mukherjee started his career in 2002 with GE Capital in their investment arm as a risk manager managing pensions and long-term investments portfolio. In 2005 he joined Lehman Brothers as a risk manager for their global investments portfolio.
Mr. Mukherjee holds a Bachelors in Mathematical Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute and a Certificate in Corporate Finance from Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (UK).
Shreyas Phadnis (Principal)
Shreyas Phadnis brings experience from Private Equity and Real Estate. His total deal sheet is over US$1.6b spanning across Middle East, Africa, UK, Central Europe, and Singapore in sectors such as: FMCG, Dairy, Retail, Real Estate, Hospitality, Logistics, Packaging, Waste Management and Digital Home Technology.
Mr Phadnis recently worked as Portfolio Managing Director at TGI, a family office with a portfolio of US$700m. He also led the firm’s new capital deployment of US$250m across Dairy and Hospitality in Africa and China.
Previously, he acted as Investment Manager and Corporate Finance Head at SinoGulf Investments where he co-managed a US$300m fund for NCB Capital and PIF of KSA. Mr. Phadnis has also raised multi-million dollar debt tranches through syndications, club and bilateral deals for his projects across the Middle East.
His career began with PricewaterhouseCoopers delivering transactions services across: education, banking, logistics, manufacturing and energy.
Shreyas Phadnis holds an MBA with Distinction from the Lancaster University Management School in UK; and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Mumbai University.
Peter D. Litvin – (Chief Operating Officer)
Mr Litvin has over 20 years of experience managing the financial, risk and operational infrastructure of global alternative asset managers. During his career, he has worked with and been a Board member of both onshore and offshore funds, Limited Partnerships and corporate entities. He has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the corporate governance needs of these companies, funds and LP’s, having worked with the leading global regulators.
Mr Litvin spent over 14 years at Citigroup Alternative Investments (“CAI”). During 1999 to 2008, he was the CFO/COO & Managing Director of the CAI Division in London and New York, a business with over US$100 billion of assets under management. He established and incorporated many of the funds and had responsibility for finance, risk, compliance and the operational infrastructure, including Head of Technology for “CAI” in Europe. From 1994-1997, he was Group Accountant of the CAI division and subsequently became a senior analyst on the fixed income desk.
From 2009 -2014 Peter was the Chief Financial Officer of Samena Capital, a principal investment group with offices in London, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Mr Litvin qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1996.
JASON Loveless (VP Finance & Operations)
Jason brings over 17 years of experience in both the private equity and asset management industries which covers finance, operations, and compliance and has served on the Boards of several companies.
He started his career with Northern Trust where he established and headed up accounting and operations teams dedicated to servicing one of the world’s largest private equity secondaries fund managers.
Following this he joined Nova Wealth Limited, a multi-jurisdictional asset management firm, initially to build and manage the operations for the business and then became FD/COO with responsibility for the finance, operations, IT, HR and compliance functions.
Most recently Jason worked for an asset management firm based in Abu Dhabi as part of a team which launched the regions first physical in-kind exchange traded fund.
Jason is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants having qualified in 2003.
Hisham Ghouth (Partner – Head of Business Development)
An avid financial industry expert with more than 15 years of experience across KSA and the GCC. Mr. Ghouth’s latest role was as the Head of Institutional Sales for Family Offices and UHNW individuals at Alkhabeer Capital (AKC). His responsibilities were to lead and execute the strategy to penetrate the institutional & family offices segment across KSA & GCC and fund raise for alternative investment funds. In addition, he was a member of the product development committee.
He is also a Vice Chairman and a Board member at Agincourt Financial Middle East (AFME Ltd) since 2014.
A founding member and Head of Institutional Sales and distribution at Barclays Saudi Arabia; he also held multiple positions during the period 2007 until 2013. He was in charge of providing sales coverage to financial institutions and sovereign entities across the GCC, as well as for the distribution of both flow products and the provision of strategic structured solutions to institutional clients at Barclays Capital.
From 2003 until 2007, Mr. Ghouth worked as Senior Dealer at Treasury of the National Commercial Bank (NCB), his role was to maintain NCB’s strong liquidity positions and was part of the team managing the investment book.
Mr. Ghouth holds a Masters in Business Administration from the American Intercontinental University (London, UK) and a BSc in International Law from King Abdul Aziz University (Jeddah, KSA).
Turki Alkemaie (Vice President – Business Development)
Turki previously worked with Alkhabeer as a Senior Manager in the Business Development department within the institutions and family offices unit. His role focused on fundraising for alternative investments including private equity and real estate in both Saudi Arabia and the USA.In addition,

Nina Nemr (Business Development Advisor)
Mrs. Nina Nemr has over 20 years of experience in Private Equity, Client Coverage, Corporate Banking, Credit Risk, Risk Management, and Industry, primarily in the Levant, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the GCC.
After having worked for big Institutions such as The Abraaj Group, Banque Libano Francaise, PricewaterhouseCoopers, a year ago Nina decided to work as an advisor and a fundraising professional for Private Equity Firms and Large Corporations. Since she left she closed her first private equity deal in the FMCG sector in Lebanon. She’s advising PE firms such as Gulf Capital, EuroMena and The Luxury Fund and Corporate’s such as The Kallassi Group, Transmed, Al Sultan and My Joy Ltd.
At Abraaj, the leading emerging-market focused private equity firm with over 9 billion in assets under management, Mrs. Nemr was a Managing Partner responsible for the Levant themed funds with $150 million assets under management and she was responsible for Investor Coverage activities across the Levant, Qatar, Kuwait and Sub-Saharan Africa. She also was responsible for deal origination in these geographies. In her tenure in Abraaj, she was in the team leading the fundraising for ABOF IV a $1,6 billion PE fund focused on the Middle East and she was also in the team leading the fundraising of the new themed Abraaj Funds, Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Latam, Turkey, South East Asia for a total of $ 2.5 billion.
Prior to joining Abraaj, Mrs. Nemr was Head of Business Line in the Corporate Department at Banque Libano Francaise in Lebanon, where she was responsible for managing key corporate accounts in the construction and telecommunication sectors with a focus on trade. Furthermore, Mrs. Nemr led a team of professionals responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients active in trade and general distribution.
Mrs. Nemr started her career at Carosserie Abillama, where she was responsible for purchasing and cost management. Prior to this, Mrs. Nemr worked as an Associate with the Merger and Acquisition team at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Cleveland, USA.
Mrs. Nemr holds an MBA with honors from Ohio University, USA and a Masters degree in Industrial Management from the Saint Joseph University, Lebanon. She received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor Society for High Scholastic Achievement.
Sakhur Al Farraj – (Equity Analyst)
Sakhur Alfarraj graduated with a double major in finance and international business. He was part of a team that manages the University’s endowment fund.
His role at the fund was the head manager of a team of 8 analysts for the Finance, Utility, and Energy sectors.
In addition, he was was head of economic commentary and outlook for the fund. He also worked with the World Trade Development Center as a financial and economic analyst.
Marisa Pereira – (Office Manager & CRM Coordinator)
During her career, Marisa spent 10 years at JTC Group Guernsey in the Channel Islands, overseeing Fund Administration Services for various portfolios such as Equity Funds, Hedge Funds and Property Funds.
In addition Marisa has experience in Shareholder Services, Compliance and Company Secretary.
Marisa has been based in Dubai since 2013 working as a Contracts Analyst for Medtronic META FZ.
Marisa holds a Certificate in Administration and Secretarial and a Diploma from The Institute of Legal Secretaries and PA’s in the UK.
Yasmen Mehrez – (Administrative Executive)
Yasmen has over 8 year’s experience in managing the administrative functions across retail, health and the financial sector.
Yasmen moved to Dubai in 2015 and has since been working as an Executive Assistant in the financial sector reporting directly to C level executives.
Yasmen holds a certificate in Business Administration and Management from TAFE NSW, Australia.
